The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a one-year course designed for high-calibre international students who have successfully completed 12 years of school education, and therefore need an additional year of study to prepare them for entry to their chosen degree at Loughborough University.
The programme includes a mixture of academic subject-specific modules, study skills, and one-to-one tutorials and is designed specifically to provide international students with the skills and knowledge to succeed on their chosen degree course.
Students who meet the English Language requirements for their chosen course will be exempt from taking English Language modules as part of their Foundation Year, pending confirmation from the relevant School/department.
Students who have not met the appropriate English Language requirements will take English Language modules as part of the programme.
The IFP enables progression (provided criteria are met) to a wide range of competitive degree courses at Loughborough University, including business and economics, science, engineering, psychology, sport science, human biology and social science.
As an IFP student you will receive the support of our dedicated International Team and be taught by highly respected Loughborough University academic staff. You will also be a fully-fledged Loughborough University student with access to all the facilities and support services the University has to offer.
